Got a warning at a town hall meeting in Boulder for asking a simple question

I went to a town hall about the new housing development near my neighborhood in Boulder. The moderator said to keep questions focused on the project, but when I asked about traffic impacts on the local schools, they told me I was off limits. Two police officers actually came over and asked me to leave if I couldn't follow the rules. Has anyone else had an experience like this at a public meeting?

Used to think cops at these things was nbd but hearing this is wild, that's some heavy handed stuff for a simple question about kids and traffic.

a simple question about kids and traffic" - I mean, guess I should've started with something safer like asking about the HOA's favorite shade of beige (which I'm sure exists somewhere in a Boulder planning document). Classic me, getting escorted out by cops while trying to be a concerned parent.

I used to think cops at these things was nbd too, Casey, but something shifted after the whole protest era. Now they show up heavy handed for a simple question about traffic safety, it makes you wonder what they're really protecting. The beige comment hit home, people get more upset about questioning the color of a fence than asking if kids can cross the street without getting hit. That tells you more about the HOA culture than any meeting agenda ever could. Maybe the real issue is we've built these neighborhoods to look perfect at the cost of actually being safe.
