My aunt told me to never mention the word 'union' at my old warehouse job in Memphis, but when they cut our break time from 15 to 10 minutes, I spoke up and got written up the next day.
Has anyone else been told to stay quiet about something specific at work?

Read somewhere that a guy got fired for saying "break room" too loud after his company tried to call it a "wellness station" to avoid break laws. Your aunt probably meant well, but keeping quiet just lets bosses walk all over you. The write-up was their way of trying to scare you, not because you were wrong.
