My cousin's job advice almost got me fired from the diner

My cousin told me to just smile and nod when the manager blamed me for a messed up order, even though the cook wrote it wrong. I did that last Tuesday, and the manager took it as me admitting fault, so he docked my pay $20 for the wasted food. Then the actual customer came back and said the ticket was wrong anyway, and the manager still wouldn't give me the money back. Has anyone else had a boss double down on a mistake even after the evidence shows you were right?
