A manager in Denver told me to stop saying "I think" in meetings and it actually helped my career
She pulled me aside after a team meeting 5 weeks ago and said I hedged so much that people tuned out my ideas, then she counted 9 times I said it in 30 minutes. I started just stating my points flat out instead, and two people told me my input got way clearer, plus I got picked to lead a project in April. Has anyone else gotten a small piece of feedback like this that turned out to matter way more than it sounded?
