Chat with my barber got me thinking about soft skills
He told me he makes twice what I do because people pay for his conversation, not just the haircut. Made me wonder if I've been ignoring the people part of my own job too long - has anyone else had a conversation that made you rethink your whole career approach?

I mean, "people pay for his conversation" is kind of a big claim unless he's handing out business advice or something. Most folks just want a decent haircut and some small talk, not a life coach with scissors. Maybe it's just me but I think people overhype these "aha" moments from random conversations sometimes.
