People keep skipping the 'why' in their cover letters and it's killing their chances
I've been helping friends review applications and every single one just lists their past jobs without saying WHY they moved or what they actually learned. My buddy sent one yesterday for a project manager role that had three bullet points about 'managing tasks' but zero on how he improved a process. Hiring managers need that story to connect the dots. Anyone else see this as a huge red flag?

Honestly, I just want the facts.

Facts are all that matter these days. I get so tired of all the extra spin and opinions. Just give me the straight info so I can figure things out myself.

Totally agree, that's a huge miss. Tell your friend to add a line for each job about what changed because he was there, like "cut meeting time in half by switching to a new tool." Makes it real.
