Unpopular take: I got 3 interviews in 2 weeks after I stopped writing cover letters and started sending a 30 second video instead
Recruiters kept ghosting my applications for 5 months until I swapped the letter for a short clip of me talking about one project, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this or if I just got lucky with 2 companies.

That ghosting stretch sounds rough, five months of sending stuff into the void wears you down. I feel you on that. What you did makes sense to me too, because a video shows way more than a letter full of words everyone copies from the same templates. Hard to say if it was luck or the videos, but three interviews in two weeks is a real jump from nothing. Companies are lazy about reading, so a 30 second clip is easier for them to just click and watch.
