Showerthought: I lost a whole day's pay trying to save $20 on a jigsaw blade

Honestly, I grabbed a cheap pack of generic blades for a quick cut job on some oak trim. The first one snapped halfway through, the second one wandered so bad I had to scrap the piece. Tbh, that was about $150 in lost time for what should have been a 30 minute job. I went back to my usual Diablo blades and it was like cutting butter. Has anyone else found that with certain tools, the cheap stuff just never works out?

My brother used a dollar store tape measure on a deck project and the hook was so loose his cuts were off by a full inch. He spent more time fixing that than if he just used his old Stanley. Sometimes the cheap thing is fine for a one time use, but for actual work it just makes more problems.

Tbh that's the worst, but it's more like you paid $150 to learn that lesson.

Totally feel that, spent way too much on a concert once.
