Had to pick between a 6 foot power stretcher and an 8 footer for a big living room job

The room was about 20 by 25 feet, and I only had my 6 footer in the van. Renting the bigger one would have cost me $50 and an extra trip across town. I decided to just use the 6 footer and work in smaller sections, which took me about an extra hour and a half. It got the job done, but the stretch in the middle of the room isn't as tight as I'd like, honestly. Anyone have a good rule for when you absolutely need the bigger tool?

So you got it done, but you're not happy with the middle. Did you try a double-kick with the 6 footer on the long walls, or was it just not enough leverage for a room that size?

Exactly, a double-kick was the first thing we tried. It still left a soft spot right in the center of the room. The 6 footer just doesn't have the weight to really press down over that much distance. We ended up having to go back with an 8 foot level and a ton of patience, working in smaller sections. Sometimes the tool you think will work just isn't the right one for the space.
