Old timer told me to stop using the knee kicker so much, he was right

Been installing for about 8 years now. This guy Ron who's been doing it since the 80s watched me stretch a hallway with a knee kicker for like 20 minutes. He just said, 'you're gonna blow your knee out by 40, use the power stretcher more.' I always thought the power stretcher was overkill for small rooms. Tried it on a bedroom in Fresno last week, took maybe half the time and the seams laid way flatter. Now I'm wondering how much wear I put on my knee for nothing. Anyone else resist using power stretchers early on?
