Rant: Why I pick tack strip over glue for concrete slabs

Everyone in my crew swears by glue-down carpet for basements, but I went with tack strip on a 400-square-foot job in Sioux Falls last month. Took me an extra 2 hours to drill and set the strips, but when a pipe burst 3 days later, the homeowner just rolled the carpet back instead of scraping glue. Has anyone else dealt with a situation where the faster method totally bit you later?

Good for you for thinking ahead. That pipe burst story alone proves why tack strip wins for basements. Extra prep time beats scraping glue any day.
