Tried doing a seam with a hot glue gun after watching a YouTube video

I had this tricky spot in a bedroom up in Portland where the seam kept lifting no matter what I did with the tape and iron. Figured I'd try that hot glue trick I saw some guy demo, just to see if it would hold. Worked like a charm on the first try, saved me from pulling up 30 feet of carpet. Has anyone else found a weird hack that actually worked better than the normal way?

I mean, did you really need an entire YouTube tutorial just to glue some carpet.

Ha, I once watched a 45 minute tutorial just to figure out how to fold a fitted sheet. Still can't do it right, honestly. Did you end up just winging the carpet glue?
