Tried to pull up that BP oil spill photo on a news site and got a 404, then counted 11 dead links in one article
I was putting together a thing for my kid's science project on the Gulf spill and went back to an old CNN piece from 2010 and 11 of the links in it just went nowhere. The worst one was a photo gallery of the cleanup crews that used to have 40 shots and now shows a blank page with a tiny 'content no longer available' line. I ended up on the Wayback Machine and the same gallery was fully there from 2011, all 40 photos. How do you all keep track of stuff that just quietly vanishes from live pages, do you screenshot first or archive it right away?
