Hit 10,000 upvotes on a post that got me silenced, wild math
I had a comment sat at 9,870 upvotes on a tech sub when a mod pulled it for mentioning a workaround to a paywall. Two days later it crossed 10k and I got a message that the thread was locked. The weird part, hitting that number made me realize how much weight we put on numbers that mean nothing when the words get wiped. Has anyone else watched a milestone land after the post got nuked, and did it mess with your head too?
Honestly the upvote count becoming a ghost number after the post is gone hits different, like the scoreboard kept running after they kicked you out of the stadium. Makes you wonder if the number was ever the point or if it just kept us hooked while the words were the part that actually mattered.
