Hot take: I stopped typing "kys" as a joke in 2021, now my group chat has a whole different vibe
Back when I was playing Destiny 2 with my clan in 2021, I got a 3 day voice ban for saying "kys" after a raid wipe, and I figured it was just a dumb auto filter. Now I type "gg go next" or just say nothing, and honestly the raids go faster because nobody is tilted. What did you swap in after your first silence, or did you just keep the old habit and eat the bans?
Your clan was ahead of the curve on this. I ran a 6 man raid group in FFXIV for two years and the thing nobody talks about is how "kys" jokes train people to go quiet after a wipe, which kills the callouts. Once it's normal to just blame whoever messed up, the person who actually knows the mechanic stops talking because they don't want to be next. Cutting the joke does more for clear comms than any raid guide.
