Got banned from a local subreddit for posting a public city council link

I shared a direct link to a city council meeting video about a noise ordinance vote last week and the mods told me it was 'disruptive content.' They said it was too political even though it was just a public record. Has anyone else had a mod block a link to official government info?

Mods love to hide behind vague rules like that. A city council link is literally public info, not some heated argument. They probably just didn't want people talking about noise complaints or whatever. It's wild how some mods act like they run the actual government.

i get what you're saying @christopher_flores46, but i kinda see it the other way. sometimes mods are just trying to keep the place from turning into a free for all, and posting public links can still lead to people going way off topic or getting into arguments that have nothing to do with the sub. it's not about hiding rules, it's about keeping things manageable.
