My local paper's comments section taught me what real censorship looks like

I ran a small food blog for 4 years, mostly reviews of diners and food trucks around Milwaukee. Last March I posted about a new taco place and mentioned the owner's son was undocumented, just as a human detail. Within 2 hours the post was flagged, then the paper's moderator emailed me saying I violated their "political neutrality" rule. That word got me thinking: who decides what's political? I asked for the exact rule text and they never replied, but they did delete 3 more of my posts without warning. I learned that silence is often easier for platforms than explaining, and that's scarier than any angry comment thread. Has anyone else had a harmless post removed under a vague policy, and did you ever get a real answer?
