My uncle in Dublin tried to share a news article with me and got a notice from Facebook instead
Last month my uncle in Dublin tried to send me a link to an article from an Irish news site about a protest, and Facebook flagged it before I ever saw it. He got a notice saying the link went against their rules, but when he asked which rule, they just sent him to a help page with no real answer. This is a guy who posts nothing but photos of his garden and his dog, so it was not some spam account situation. Has anyone else had a family member get one of these vague warnings with no clear reason given?
The part about "they just sent him to a help page with no real answer" is the most annoying bit honestly. My sister runs a tiny bakery page and got one of those warnings last year for sharing a post about a local farmers market. She kept clicking the appeal button and it just looped her back to the same page over and over, like a broken vending machine. Eventually she gave up, deleted the post, and the warning vanished on its own a few weeks later.
