I used a standard brush on a 40-foot flue in an old brick house versus a new poly brush and the difference in creosote removal was night and day.
The poly brush, which I got after a recommendation at the state convention, flexed around the mortar joints and got into every nook, leaving the flue spotless in half the time, so what's your go-to brush for tricky, uneven masonry?

My old boss swore by poly brushes for historic homes. He said the flex lets them clean old, irregular flues that would just wear out a stiff brush. I've found the same thing on my own jobs since switching.

Ever run into a situation where a stiff brush just gets stuck in those old flues? That flex sounds like it makes a huge difference for getting into weird corners. Smart move switching over.

Ever try a poly brush on a really old flue with crumbling mortar? I had one where the standard brush just skimmed the surface and left a ton behind. The poly one bent right into the gaps and pulled out chunks I didn't even know were there. Now I keep a couple different poly sizes on the truck just for those uneven jobs.
