Rant: My town just passed a dumb rule about chimney caps

The city council made all homes get new chimney caps by next month. What's the deal with that, lol?

Honestly those caps stop sparks from flying out and starting fires. Could save your whole neighborhood.

Last year our outdoor extension cord was throwing sparks. Put a cap on it and haven't seen a single spark since! Makes such a difference.

Good point @barbara_kim61, but what about the birds nesting in there?
