Took me 8 years to finally switch my house off gas heating

I kept putting it off cause I thought the whole thing would be way too expensive and complicated. But I got a heat pump installed last fall and honestly the install took like 2 days. The extra 8 years was me just assuming it was harder than it really was. Now my electric bill is actually lower than what I was paying for gas. Has anyone else waited way too long to make a switch like this cause of the hassle factor?

The "hassle factor" part hits hard cause my buddy put off switching to a pellet stove for like 5 years thinking it'd tear up his whole house and it ended up being a one day install. He's still mad at himself every time he fills the hopper.
