Warning: I called my city's e-bike rebate a waste of tax money, and the numbers proved me wrong
Saw Denver's program pay out $1,400 per person last spring and figured it was just free toys for people who already bike. Turned out 60 percent of the payouts went to folks replacing car trips under 5 miles, and I have not been able to argue the same way since. Anyone got data from a city where the rebate actually flopped?
