Coolant got into my electrical cabinet, check your seals now

Had a scare at the shop off I-35 last Friday. Haas VF-3 was running fine all morning, then mid-cycle the control panel started flickering. Shut it down and found coolant had crept past the door seal and pooled around the servo drivers. Cost us 2 days of downtime and a $900 repair bill. The seal looked fine from the outside, but had a hairline crack on the back edge. Any of you guys run a regular schedule for checking those rubber gaskets, or just wait for something to short out first?
