I thought that new toolpath software was just hype until I ran a job yesterday

My boss got us a license for that Fusion 360 CAM stuff about three months ago. I kept using my old way because I figured it was just fancy graphics. Yesterday I had to cut a tricky aluminum part with a lot of internal corners. I set it up in Fusion, used their adaptive clearing, and it finished in 45 minutes. The old way would have taken over an hour and a half, easy. The tool load was way more even and the finish was better. Has anyone else made the switch and seen a real time save on complex parts?

Ever think about the noise? I switched to adaptive clearing on some steel parts and the shop went from sounding like a war zone to just a steady hum. My old method had the end mill screaming around corners. Now it sounds bored, and I'm not getting complaints from the office next door anymore. The tool just seems less angry the whole time.

Man, I was the same way! I thought it was all just marketing fluff until I tried it on a stainless job. The time save is REAL, and like @jones.alice said, the noise difference is crazy. My old plunge roughing made the machine sound like it was gonna shake apart, but this just sounds smooth. I'm a total convert now.

The real win is the tool life jump. I got triple the parts before a change on some nasty pockets, and like @jones.alice mentioned, that smooth sound means less shock on the carbide. My tool budget is finally breathing.
