Warning: a simple coolant line clog cost me a full shift

I was running a batch of 304 stainless parts on our old Mazak lathe and the finish started getting rough. I figured it was a tool issue, so I swapped inserts twice and checked all the offsets. After three hours, I finally noticed the coolant flow from one nozzle was just a trickle. The line had a tiny piece of swarf packed in tight right at the bend. Took me another hour to clear it without making a huge mess. Anyone have a good trick for checking flow before you start chasing tool problems?

But a clogged line is just a normal Tuesday, right?
