Picked Python over JavaScript for my first language, 3 months in and I'm second guessing it
Six months ago I sat in my truck during lunch breaks with my phone and could not decide between Python and JavaScript for my first language. I went with Python because a guy on YouTube said the syntax reads like English, and he was right, I wrote a little script in 20 minutes that renames 200 photo files on my laptop. But now I keep seeing job posts asking for JavaScript and I wonder if I picked the slow road. My plan is to finish my Python basics course in April and then peek at JavaScript after, just to see how different it feels. For people who started with one and learned the other later, which one clicked faster for you and did switching back and forth mess with your head?
What made you pick Python over JavaScript in the first place, the job stuff or just wanting to build stuff on your own? Seems like that answer matters more than what job posts say. Curious what your gut says now that you have a few months in.
