Rant: stop using tabs in tutorials, yall are confusing the newbies

I hang out in an intro to HTML group on Discord and every week someone posts their code with all these weird gaps and asks why their page won't center. 9 times out of 10 it's because they copied a tutorial that uses tab characters for indentation and their editor or the forum just ate it up. Tabs look random in a browser, spaces are consistent. I had this exact thing happen to me last month with a flexbox lesson, spent 2 hours redoing everything when the fix was just switching tabs to 2 spaces. Why do so many guides still use tabs? Has anyone else hit this wall?
