Finally tried a pour over after 5 years of espresso only
I've been pulling shots on my Gaggia since 2019 and thought pour overs were just fussy cups of weak tea. Last weekend my buddy in Austin brought over a V60 and some Ethiopian beans, and the flavor layers actually showed up, like fruit and tea notes I never got from espresso. Am I missing out on other brewing methods too, or is this just a gateway to more gear?
Bought a 5 pound bag of the Yirgacheffe from a roaster down in Portland last month and I'm still working through it. Tastes like straight up blueberries and jasmine tea, no joke. My wife thinks I've lost it because I keep making her smell the bag before I brew it. If you can find a good natural process Ethiopian, grab it before it sells out.
