Grinding beans the night before vs right before brewing ruined my mornings for 3 weeks
I got lazy and started grinding a whole bag at once on Sunday nights to save time before work. By Wednesday the coffee tasted flat and stale, like cardboard water, even though I was using the same bag of Counter Culture beans I always get. A buddy who roasts told me ground coffee loses most of its good smell within 15 minutes because of all the surface area. Now I grind each cup fresh and the difference is night and day. Anyone else tested how long ground beans actually stay decent before you notice it?
