Serious question, a professor at Ohio State told me my question was 'platforming hate' and shut down the whole Q&A
I asked a visiting speaker last month in Columbus why he thought a certain campus group should be barred from booking rooms, and the professor running the event grabbed the mic and said my question itself was 'platforming hate,' so has anyone else had a moderator twist their question into the thing being banned?

Went to a similar Q&A at Michigan State in 2022 where the mod pulled the same move on a guy asking about speaker fees. The trick is to ask your question in writing and hand it to the organizer first, so they can't claim you were grandstanding with the mic. If they spike it anyway, that itself becomes the story.
