Found a classic Avengers issue for cheap, but my friend says I should sell it.

I think keeping it is better for the memories, but he argues the cash could fund more comics. Where do you stand?

Selling a classic issue just to buy more comics misses the point. That comic isn't just a thing to trade. It's a piece of your history with the characters. Your friend might see it as a piggy bank, but it's more like a photo album. Cash comes and goes, but a key issue you found for cheap has its own story. Funding more comics sounds good, but they won't have the same meaning, and memories don't lose value.

Totally get where @coleman.laura is coming from. I had a beat-up Avengers #57 I found for five bucks. Could have sold it to fund a bunch of modern books, but that hunt and the story of finding it? That's the good part. Selling it would just feel like trading that memory for a stack of nothing special.
