From wet notes to digital logs, my dive records look totally different now
Back in 1998 I was working oil rigs in the Gulf and every dive got written on a plastic slate, then copied into a soggy notebook at the end of the day. If the boat rolled, you lost a week of records. Now I log everything on a cheap tablet wrapped in a dry bag, sync it to a cloud drive when I get back to shore. The change happened around 2012 when a client in Louisiana started asking for PDFs instead of photocopies. Took me a full season to trust it, but I never lost a dive record since. Anyone else make the jump from paper to digital and have a horror story about a lost logbook?

That tablet setup sound solid, but what happens when the cloud service itself goes down or gets bought out and shuts off? Paper might rot but at least it's in your hands, not some server you don't control. Ever had to dig a hard copy out of a wrecked boat just to cover your ass on a liability call?
