Hooking up old school air hose vs. those new quick connects
Tbh I've been diving since 2009 and I remember when we'd spend 15 minutes just getting the air hose hooked up with those big brass fittings and a wrench. You had to crank it down just right or you'd get a slow leak at 80 feet. Now the new rigs I work with in Galveston have these stainless quick connects that click in 5 seconds flat. No leaks, no wrenching, no fighting with frozen threads in the winter. My old dive buddy still swears by the old method, says the quick connects can pop loose under pressure. I told him that happened to a guy in 2011 maybe, but the new ones are rated for 300 psi easy. What kind of fitting setup are you guys running on your surface supply these days?

Is this really life or death or people just set in their ways?

Man's whole bloodline is on the line and someone's out here worried about their morning routine. lol It's definitely a mix of both but mostly just people refusing to switch lanes.
