Supervisor said my dives were too slow, changed everything on the barge

Back in 2019 on a job near Corpus Christi, the supervisor pulled me aside. Said I was taking 20 minutes extra per dive just doing double checks. He told me, "You're burning the client's clock, not your own." I was pissed at first but then I timed myself. He was right. Cut my pre-dive checks from 15 minutes down to 5. Buddy system only, one walk-through, go. Made a huge difference on invoice totals. Anyone else get told they're too thorough and had to tighten up?
