I was dead set against remote diagnostic tools until I fixed a server 200 miles away in 20 minutes last Tuesday.

Had to walk a client through plugging in a KVM over IP and suddenly I realized every drive to a site for a simple reboot was just wasted gas money - has anyone else been burned by trusting on-site work more than remote access?
