Just realized my $12 cable tester caught what my $300 Fluke missed on a job in Akron
Spent 2 hours chasing a flaky link at a dental office last Tuesday and the fancy tester kept passing the run clean. Plugged in the cheap one and it flagged a bad crimp on pin 6 right away. Anyone else trust the cheap tools over the brand name ones, or did I just get lucky?
You sure the Fluke actually missed it, or did you just not test the right way the first time? Honestly those fancy testers catch stuff the cheap ones can't even see, so one bad crimp doesn't mean the $300 tool is junk.
Ngl though, sometimes a cheap tester just gets lucky on a simple break. I wouldn't toss the Fluke over one job.
