A cab driver in Phoenix changed how I see the moon landing stuff

Last Tuesday I took a ride from the airport and this cabbie, older guy named Ray, starts talking about how the moon landing footage looks fake. I usually just nod along, but he said something that stuck with me. He said the shadows in the photos point different ways, and that's what made him question everything. I looked it up later, that's actually because the ground is uneven, but his point was about being curious enough to check things yourself. It hit different because he wasn't angry or preachy, just genuinely wondering. Has anyone ever had a random stranger change how they approach a theory, even if you still disagree with them in the end?

Why do people always gotta make everything a conspiracy when the real answer is usually just boring? Ray sounds like he gets it though, the part about checking stuff yourself is the real takeaway. Even if the shadows thing was off, he probably made you look it up, which is more than most folks do. That kind of curiosity is rare these days, especially from a stranger in a cab. You can walk away still thinking the landing was real and still respect how he got there. It’s not about being right, it’s about not just nodding along your whole life.
