Debunking that chemtrail video took me 11 hours of flight data
Someone in the airport line showed me a clip claiming planes were dumping poison over Phoenix. I pulled up ADS-B logs from that exact day and matched 4 flights, turns out it was just normal contrails at 38,000 feet. Spent way too long proving it, but has anyone else tried fact-checking one of these with actual radar history?
The contrail thing is a bit more complicated than just altitude though. Planes at 38,000 feet can still leave trails that spread out and look weird depending on humidity and temp up there, so flight data alone doesn't fully debunk it even if it points that way. The ADS-B logs are solid for showing which planes were where, but the trail part comes down to weather conditions at that height, not just the flight path. Still cool that you put in the work, most people just yell at each other online and call it a day. 11 hours is a lot though, did you at least save the logs somewhere so you can reuse them next time someone sends you a clip?
