Tried a police scanner app after the blackout last month, here is what I got
Last month in Columbus we lost power for 12 hours and my neighbor swore the cops knew something we didn't. So I downloaded a police scanner app and left it on overnight. What I heard was mostly grocery store thefts and a guy arguing with his ex about a couch. No secret evacuation plans, no FEMA chatter, just normal boring dispatch. I learned that listening to raw radio traffic without context is like reading someone's shopping list and calling it a manifesto. Has anyone else run a scanner during a local emergency and actually picked up something useful or is it all just noise?

Wait, a guy fighting with his ex over a couch in the middle of a blackout? Talk about priorities. I gotta ask, what did the dispatcher even say to that? Like, is that a code for something else or did they actually have a couch protocol? Twelve hours without power and that's the drama they're dealing with, wild. Sounds about right for Columbus though, honestly.
