Bought cheap shears from a mall kiosk, paid for it at work

Saw a pair at the mall in Houston for $45. Looked fine. Sharpening them was a nightmare. The steel folded during a dry cut on Tuesday. Had to redo an entire bob cut because the blade dragged. Should have just spent the $180 on real shears. Anyone have a brand that handles thick hair without chattering?

Cringed reading that part about the steel folding. That's not just cheap, that's dangerous. I've had blades chip before, but folding mid-cut means the metal is basically garbage. And you had to redo the whole bob? That's brutal, wasted product and time. Keep that $45 pair as a paperweight.
