Had a perm go wrong last Tuesday and had to fix it mid-strand

I was doing a perms at my station in Dallas and the rod slipped right out halfway through wrapping, leaving a weird kink in the middle. Had to quickly unravel, re-wrap with a smaller rod, and saturate again to blend it in without the client noticing. Anyone else had a rod disaster they had to recover from mid-process?

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare on rods! @dixon.amy I'm curious though, when you had to re-wrap that section, did you notice any difference in how the curl pattern set compared to the rest? I always worry that saturating again might throw off the processing time even if you try to blend it quick.

That 2 inch section around the crown is always the part that scares me the most cause gravity just hates it in there. Did you have to completely change your rod pattern or did you manage to keep most of it the same?
