Hit 1000 foil applications on the same client this morning

I was doing a full highlight on my regular, Mrs. Henderson, and my assistant was counting foils as we pulled them. She got to the last one and said 'That's a thousand, Skyler.' I almost dropped my brush. Started doing her hair when she moved here from Phoenix five years ago, just a few foils every six weeks. Now it's a full head every month. It's wild to think about all that time and all that hair. Anyone else ever keep a weird count like that on a long term client?

My buddy tracks how many times he's cut his dad's hair.

Seems a bit cold to keep score.

Actually heard a therapist on a podcast talking about this once. She said some people use scorekeeping as a way to feel secure in the relationship, like they're making sure things are fair. But she also mentioned it can hide deeper stuff like resentment or not feeling appreciated. Not sure if that's what's going on here, but it made me think about it differently.
