PSA: An older client changed how I talk during a blowout
Mrs. Patterson has been coming to my chair in Tampa for 3 years, and last Tuesday she stopped me mid-section and asked why I go quiet once the round brush comes out. I always thought small talk during a blowout was just noise, but she said the quiet is what makes some clients tense up and grip the chair arms. Now I keep a low running chat going the whole time, and has anyone else noticed clients sit calmer when you do?
Sounds like she just likes to chat and found a way to tell you, not some big revelation about how clients sit. One lady's comment in Tampa doesn't mean everyone gets tense in the quiet, plenty of people zone out or read their phone the whole time. Keeping some talk going is fine, but don't read too much into it.
