Warning: I bleached my own hair at home for 5 years before a stylist told me I was overlapping on the same sections every time

A friend who's a pro showed me the sectioning lines in a mirror and I realized I had been creating hot spots with zero consistency, has anyone else had to unlearn a bad habit from years of doing your own hair?

I used the same foil pattern for like 3 years before I caught on. My left side was always lighter than the right because I kept folding the foils the exact same way. Had to retrain my whole arm just to get even results. It was humbling.

Hell yeah, that was totally me. I always thought sectioning was just for looks, but after a buddy showed me how uneven my roots were I felt like an idiot. Now I'm super anal about it and my hair actually looks decent.
