The difference between running an older Grove and a new Liebherr is night and day

I mean maybe it's just me getting old but I hopped into a new Liebherr LTM 1050 last week after running an old Grove RT540E for like 8 years. The Grove was a workhorse don't get me wrong but that thing had zero finesse. You were basically fighting the controls the whole time especially with a load swinging. The Liebherr though has that smart load moment indicator and the telescoping is just so smooth. I set up a 14 ton pick in a tight spot behind a building downtown and had it placed in like 20 minutes. On the old Grove that same job would have taken me near an hour of creeping and correcting. Has anyone else felt like the newer cranes almost do half the thinking for you? Is that a good thing or does it make us lazy?
