Used to just eyeball my lift radius until I dropped a load of rebar 12 feet last July in a parking lot

Now I double check every measurement with a tape and a level before I even signal the rig, has anyone else had a close call that forced you to change a habit on the job?

Got a knuckle boom driver's license suspended for a week after I swung a load of plywood sheets into the side of a parked minivan. Never even saw it coming from the blind spot. Now I walk the whole radius twice before I touch the controls.

Same thing happened to me @olivers28 except I took out a mailbox and a fence.
