Vent: my spotter looked at his phone mid pick and I nearly swung a beam into a crew truck
This happened Thursday morning on a job in Fresno, I was booming out a 40 foot steel beam and looked down to see him scrolling instead of watching the load. Anyone else had to shut a pick down because your spotter checked out, and how do you handle it without blowing up the crew?
Did he actually miss anything or was the load still clear when you looked? Not saying it's fine but guys glance at phones for two seconds all the time. If the beam was nowhere near that truck, maybe just pull him aside after instead of shutting the whole pick down.
