Noticed my old writing group vanished after we went online

Back in 2017, our critique circle met every Tuesday at a library in Columbus, Ohio, and we'd have 8 to 12 folks sharing prompts and short stories. Fast forward to last month, and the same group on Discord only gets 2 regulars, mostly just posting emoji reactions instead of real feedback. The shift happened when we stopped reading aloud and started pasting walls of text, so the energy just drained out somehow. Has anyone else seen a live prompt community lose its spark after moving to digital spaces, or is it just our group?

Same thing happened to mine, reading aloud was the whole point lol.
