Paid $50 for a writing prompt book on impulse at a used bookstore last weekend

I grabbed this beat-up copy of 'The Writer's Block' thinking it would give me a thousand fresh ideas, but every prompt inside is either about a haunted house or a lost love. Spent two hours flipping through it and got more inspiration from a random conversation about spilled beer at my bar. Has anyone else found a paid resource that actually surprised you with something useful, or is it all just recycled fluff?

That haunted house part sounds like it was written by someone who's never actually been in one lol.

Wait, are we supposed to believe the author actually survived a night in a haunted house and came out with a plot that clunky? Sounds like they watched one scary movie and called it research.
