Remembering the old writing prompt notebooks

I spent a whole afternoon trying to find a specific prompt I wrote down in 2018 about a lighthouse keeper finding a modern cellphone, but my old notebooks are a total mess. It took me over three hours to finally locate it in a green composition book under my bed. What's the most time you've wasted looking for a lost idea?
